He served 30 years in the United States Marine Corps and he retired as a Master Gunnery Sergeant.
He is survived by his daughter, Clarissa Densmore and son in law of Havelock; grandsons Steven Peffer II in Ohio and Aaron Peffer and his wife Amanda in Texas.
