Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Edward A and Edith (nee Shave) Greco on September 24th, 1954.
Peggy lived in Philadelphia until relocated to Southern New Jersey, graduating from Edgewood High School in 1972. It was at Edgewood High School that she met and married her husband of 50-years James F. Gilbert. Peggy and James shared a beautiful life together, settling down in Pitman, New Jersey where they raised their three children: Lisa Gilbert Hoffecker (James), David J. Gilbert, and Jilian Gilbert Doll (Jason).
Known for her dedicated professionalism and drive for success, as well as undying compassion and kindness. Peggy’s love for life touched the lives of many who would call her friend. Peggy’s list of accomplishments are many, including being an ordained minister, a founder of Ruach Glory Ministries, published author, and medical manager just to name a few. In 2017, Peggy and James left New Jersey for New Bern, North Carolina, where in retirement Peggy became Vice President of Fairfield Harbor POA and esteemed member of the New Bern Women’s Club.
Peggy enjoyed cooking, traveling, writing, being the favorite aunt, the beauty of the mountains, and the joy of the potter’s wheel. While she loved the outdoors, Peggy was less fond of hot weather and humidity! Her creativity, sense of humor, and love was unbounding, often sharing her home over a warm meal to her many friends and family with open arms.
Along with her husband and children, Peggy is survived by her sisters Marie Greco Blistan (Robert), Tina Greco Wirth (James), grandchildren Hannah, Joy, Hailey, Colton, and Allison, as well as many nieces of nephews. She is predeceased by brothers Guy MacDonald (Patricia) and Eugene MacDonald (Linda).
The friends and community of the Gilbert family are invited to attend the funeral services of Margaret (Peggy) Anne Greco Gilbert to be held at The Rock Church in Pitman, NJ at 11am, on October 12th. A private reception for the family will follow at Italian Affair in Glassboro, NJ.

“I recognize that my life is now and has always been in God’s hands, not mine. I won’t become a reclusive old lady, but I will become a grand old dame! That is my choice. I will embrace the future seasons, thanks God for every past one. I will allow the puzzle pieces to fall into place. One day, the entire prism will come into focus, and the full picture of me will be revealed. On that day, I pray to hear God say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” – Peggy Gilbert, May 22, 2015
