Mary Winslow Stallings

Mary Leland Winslow Stallings, 97, a longtime resident of New Bern, died of natural causes Friday, May 1, 2026. Mary was born in Hertford, North Carolina to Linford Leland Winslow and Mattie Lou Williams Winslow. She married Sanford Colona Stallings in November 1946 and had a loving nearly 71-year marriage before Sanford’s death in October 2017.

Mary is survived by her brother, William Thomas Winslow (Susan); daughter, Susan Stallings Crepeau; granddaughter, Cyndi Crepeau Funkhouser (Bill); great-grandsons Nicholas Alexander Crepeau, Brandon Chase Crepeau, and Andrew Thomas Crepeau; and special family members Luke, Renee, and Elijah Anderson; and Consuela Agayoff (Danny). She was preceded in death by her sister, Adalia Winslow Harrell and her grandson, Peter Norman (“PJ”) Crepeau, Jr.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, North Carolina 28560, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Funeral Service will follow in the Chapel at 3:00 pm with Dr. Scott Gleason officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband with a private entombment at Greenleaf Memorial Park Cemetery.
