

Mildred Louise Ebron Bannister, age 88, of New Bern, NC passed away on July 11, 2022 at Craven Regional Medical Center after a brief illness. She was born on November 3, 1933 in Craven County, NC to the late Floyd William Ebron and Lena Rowe Ebron.
Mildred was the most kind, gentle sole you could ever hope to be around. She was lovingly called “Bill” by her family her entire life. She dedicated her life to raising her children and helped take care of her mother in her last years. She was loved and will be missed by so many and her memory will be cherished forever.
Bill is survived by her six children; Samuel Bannister and wife, Kim of Kinston, NC, Susan Bannister Sutton and husband, Harry Lewis Sutton, Sr., of Vanceboro, NC, Esther Bannister of Bridgeton, NC, Charles Bannister of Bridgeton, NC, James Bannister of the home and Dorothy Bannister of the home, 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, two brothers, Thomas Ebron and wife, Mary Lou, Sammy Ebron and wife, Sharon, three sisters, Ruby Wilmoth, Joyce Mathis and Shelbie Hardison and husband, Rick, all of New Bern, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Bill is predeceased by her husband, Paul James Bannister, her son, William Bannister, her daughters; Jackie Insley and Adaline Rolison, her son-in-law, Monnie Rolison, her granddaughter, Nina Armstrong and her brother Floyd William Ebron, Jr.
The family will receive friends on Friday, July 15, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m, with the funeral immediately following at 2:00 p.m. at Croatan Free Will Baptist with Harry Bryan officiating. Burial will be in the Croatan Community Cemetery.
