Phillip Marshall Edwards, Jr.

Phillip Marshall Edwards, Jr., 72, of Pollocksville, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2023. Phillip was born in Craven County, North Carolina on November 25, 1950 to the late Phillip Marshall Edwards, Sr. and Pauline Anderson Rhue.

Phillip served in the Coast Guard. He retired from Cherry Point. He also worked at Moore's BBQ. Phillip was a member of Doric Masonic Lodge and a member of Colonial Capital Rods and Classics Car Club. Phillip's hobbies included diving, hunting, fishing, gardening, antique collecting (pepsi memorabilia) and antique cars. Phillip was affectionately known by his family as "P-nut".

He is survived by his wife, Patricia S. Williams and his children, Brittany L. Riggs (Adam) and Trevor A. Morrison; brother, David A. Edwards; sister, Ginger P. Odom; stepsister, Barbara S. Hewlett (Ronnie); honorary sister, Missey D. Weatherly and honorary brother, Steve R. Debruhl; one grandson, Kile P. Mitchell. He also leaves behind aunts, Barbara A. Howell and Jackie A. Roseberry, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Pamela E. Pruett; son, Shawn M. Edwards and daughter, Gina H. Mitchell (Jeffrey).

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Judes and/or Shriner's children's hospital.

A Memorial Service officiated by Steven Mercer, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 29, 2023 at Trenton Pentecostal Holiness Church, located at 261 NC 41, Trenton, NC 28585. Following will be a Celebration of Life in the fellowship hall where family will receive friends. Internment will be at a later date for immediate family.
