Queenie Lilly died on Friday, April 23rd at SECU Crystal Coast Hospice House, at the age of 93. Queenie was a native and lifelong resident of Craven County, member of the New Bern Church of God, and retired in 1998 from Craven Regional Medical Center following 35 years of service as cafeteria manager. A memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 1st at 11:00am at Cotten Funeral Home with Pastor Doug Case officiating. Burial will be at Greenleaf Memorial Park following the service.
Queenie was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who will be dearly missed by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Elijah Sam Lilly, one son Bobby Dean Lilly of Raleigh, her parents Mary Hill Barrow and Jesse Lee Wilson both of Craven County, a brother Woodrow Wilson formerly of New Bern, a sister Bessie Wilson Billmyer of New Bern, a half-brother Jesse Ray Wilson of Vanceboro, and half-sister Ann Buck of Washington NC. She is survived by three sons, Harold G. Lilly and wife Micki of Asheboro, Ralph L. Lilly formerly of Bridgeton, and Jerry A. Lilly of Bayboro, daughter-in-law Laura Lilly of New Bern, 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service on Saturday at Cotten Funeral Home.
