Robert "Bob" Traver

Robert “Bob” Fred Traver, 87, died December 10, 2015 with family by his side, at Brookdale Assisted Living where he resided since February 2015. RiverBend was his home for 25 years where his friends became family and his life was blessed with laughter and joy.

He was a devoted husband and father and a handyman who would help anyone in need. He retired from Bell Telephone after 35 years of service. He was a former member of QuakerNeck Country Club and Tidewater Seniors.

Bob is preceded in death by his wife Sally Traver.

He is survived by his 5 children; Rosemary and Rich Reed of Atlanta, GA, Robert Traver and Susan Sasso of Sayville, NY, Kathy and Lew Bleiweis of Ashville, NC, Elizabeth and Keith Fitzgerald of Atlanta, GA, and Timothy and Jayne Traver of Sayville, NY, eight grandchildren; Andrea Reed, Meghan Amiot and husband Thom Amiot, Zachary Reed, Steffanie Traver, Timothy Traver, Brian Fitzgerald, Kelly Fitzgerald, and Kyle Bleiweis, and one great-grandchild, Caroline Elizabeth Amiot.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 18, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm at Cotten Funeral Home, with a Rosary at 7:00pm. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00am at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery with Military Honors.
