Rodney Wilton McCoy, 47, of Cove City, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018. Rodney was full of life, never met a stranger and enjoyed all things outdoors like fishing, boating and hunting. He also enjoyed restoring old cars. He was a devoted husband, father, son and was a hard worker.
He is survived by his wife, Michelle Booth McCoy; two children, Jaimi Lyn McCoy and Landon McCoy; mother, Mary McCoy; two sisters, Elevia McCoy Hearne (Jimmy) and Melda McCoy. He is also survived by his extended family, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Allen and Joanie Booth; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Erik and Crystal Smith; nieces and nephews, Emma Kate Smith, Reid Smith, Daniel Hearne and Melissa Hearne Williams (Ricky); as well as numerous close friends. Sadly, he was preceded in death by his father, Marion "Doodle" McCoy.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at Cotten Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 7th at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the McCoy Cemetery in Cove City.
