Rosemary Howry of New Bern, North Carolina went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 79 on Saturday, September 25, 2022. Rosemary was born in Minco, Oklahoma on March 16, 1943 to the late Robert and Margie Hacker. She was one of twelve children, survived by nine; five brothers; Garrett, Reese, Lester, Earl, and John, and four sisters; Cliffa, Joyce, Gayle, and Myrna. Rosemary is also survived by her son, Judson and his wife Tara, and her three grandchildren; Ryan and wife Abigail, Victoria and Jaiden.
Rosemary lived most of her life in Oklahoma and was a strong, hard-worker in the service industry, providing a stable environment for raising her son. Her jobs included: janitor at Judson’s elementary school, upholstery seamstress at a furniture factory, typist at a life insurance company (she was amazingly fast), and a laundry worker at a linen company that served local hospitals. She retired at age 66, allowing her to spend time with her siblings and be active at her church playing the piano and singing the occasional solo.
Rosemary moved to New Bern in September, 2019. While it took some adjustment to leave her home state, she soon grew to love eastern North Carolina, especially (and perhaps surprisingly) the hot summers. She quickly joined the flock of Brice’s Creek Bible Church and greeted everyone with a warm smile. She enjoyed daily walks and outings with her son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren many of which involved food and desserts. She loved dessert. These last three years have been a blessing to all who knew her.
A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Brice's Creek Bible Church. There will be live stream available at Brice's Creek Bible Church, Facebook and Youtube pages.
