Ruth Irene (Barfield) Jarman

Irene (Barfield) Jarman, age 86, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2021. Ruth was born July 14, 1935 in Craven County, North Carolina to Marion Lee Barfield and Ida Hardison Barfield.

Ruth enjoyed playing cards and dominos with family and friends. She volunteered for many years at CarolinaEast, Auxiliary Department. She was a lifelong member of Riverside United Methodist Church. She grew up attending church there and continued to until her health declined. She loved to sing and play piano. She enjoyed traveling to the beach. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by four children; Bryan "Buddy" Jarman, David Jarman, Ruth Webb and Timmy Jarman, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her her parents, husband, Oscar "Bud" Jarman, son-in-law, Charles Webb, sister, Virginia Greer and brother, Bill Barfield.

A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior.
