Ruth R. Keefe, wife of the late Charles E. Keefe, died on Monday, November 27, 2023, at Croatan Ridge Rehab facility. She was born June 24, 1929, in Manchester, Connecticut, the daughter of Leo T. Ryan and Ruth Wilcox Ryan. She and her husband lived in Canton, Connecticut for thirty-eight years before moving to New Bern in 1989. She was a graduate of Manchester High School and the University of Connecticut. She was a member of Rhems United Methodist Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Goodwin of Pittsfield, Massachusetts; daughter-in-law, Rebecca Keefe; and five grandchildren, Ryan, Katelynn, Alyssa, MacKenzie, and Madeline.
She is preceded in death by her son, David Charles Keefe.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Cotten Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Simpson officiating the service. The family will receive visitors following the service.
