She retired from Hatteras Yachts after 28 years of service.
She is survived by four children, Charles W. Thomas, Jr., Joann Saunders and Wanda J. Rodriguez, all of New Bern; Richard A. Thomas, of Fayetteville; three brothers, Matthew Stewart, of Little Rock, AR; Harry Stewart, of Shreveport, LA; Dixie Stewart of Cove City; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 am Friday, February 28, 2014 at Cotten Funeral Home, followed by her funeral service at 11:00 am. with Rev. Wanda J. Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. Family and friends will gather at the home of Wanda Rodriguez after the service.
