He was born in Montgomery County, OH to Harold and Margaret Horton who preceded him in death.
After graduation from high school, he joined the United States Marine Corp where he fought in two wars and retired as GySgt. He then worked in construction. He loved golf and had a passion for reading.
He is survived by his sisters, Sherry Strange (Gerald Strange) and Margaret Ann Comp as well as his nieces and nephews.
His service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, November 10, 2025 at the Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 W. Third Street, Dayton Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sherry Strange to cover the cost of his final expenses.
