Walter Bud "Bud" Schrader

After a varied career, he retired from the Introl Division of Chrysler Motor Corp. in Ann Arbor, MI where he worked as a repairman for 14 years. Prior to that he owned the Cavanaugh Lake Store for approximately 14 years. He also worked for 15 years at Central Fibre in Chelsea, MI.

He was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church in New Bern, NC. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge # 156 and the Chelsea Rod and Gun Club in Chelsea, MI.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Schrader, Sr. and Mary Schrader; son, Larry Schrader and two sisters, Ethel Strouse and Florence Newcombe.

Walter is survived by his wife of 71 years, Ruth Schrader; son, Mike Schrader and wife, Dale of Cambridge, Maryland; daughter-in-law, Mary Jane Schrader of New Bern, wife of his late son, Larry Schrader; brothers, Bill Schrader and Don Schrader; sisters, Jean Cluccio and Mary Ann Heard; ten grandchildren: Kevin Schrader, Kari Cowan, Kris Schrader, Kandis Shark, Kara Schrader, Aaron Schrader, Adam Schrader, Jim McIntyre, Michael McIntyre and Glen McIntyre; and fifteen great grandchildren: Kirt, Keith, Jason, Jonathan, Jordan, Kelsey, Kodey, Megan, Hannah, Abby, Austin, Emma, Alec, Logan and Phineas.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in New Bern Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Choir Robe Fund at Crossroads Baptist Church, 1802 US Hwy 70 East, New Bern, NC 28560.
