William Robert Barwick

William Robert Barwick, 67, of Cove City, died peacefully in his home surrounded by his family on Monday, November 6, 2023. He was born on September 10th, 1956, to the late Lemuel “Lemmie” and Flora Barwick.

Robert grew up in Fort Barnwell, North Carolina where he developed a love for sports and fishing. When Robert was 22, he met a young woman from Grifton named Rhonda Nobles, who would soon become his wife. Robert was known as a jack of all trades and was always willing to help repair anything in need of mending. When he wasn't working, Robert's favorite past time was fishing in the Pamlico Sound. In his later life, Robert became a grandfather, a role in which he excelled. His best days were spent travelling and playing with his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 44 years, Rhonda Barwick; son, Lemuel "Lemmie" Barwick (Brittany); grandchildren, Scarlett and Lemuel "L.J" Barwick; sisters, Barbara Avery (Wiley), and Becky Willis (Charles); his lifelong friends Wendy and Bennie Decker; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and cherished friends and colleagues.

Robert was preceded in death by his mother and father, Lemuel Barwick and Flora Barwick.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the outpouring of love they and Robert received during the past few months.

The family of Robert Barwick will receive visitors from 11:00am - 12:00pm on Saturday, November 18th, 2023, at Core Creek Free Will Baptist Church. A celebration of Robert's life will begin following visitation at 12:00pm. Following the service, Robert will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
