Born and raised in Pennsylvania, Bill was one of five siblings and carried with him a strong work ethic that guided his life. Bill spent his career in construction as a skilled finishing carpenter, taking pride in the craftsmanship and detail of his work. He was married to his devoted wife, Marilyn Kovac, for 54 years, sharing a lifetime of memories and commitment together.
He enjoyed the freedom of the open road on his motorcycles, time spent at the lake, relaxing days at the beach, and any chance for a good adventure. Despite living with chronic back pain in later years, he continued to appreciate the moments that brought him peace and enjoyment.
Bill was especially proud of his family and the legacy he leaves behind. He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Kovac; his children, Chris Kovac (Stacey) and Amy Levans (Richard); and his four cherished grandchildren, Makena, Reagan, Tyler, and Rachel. He is also survived by his brother, Steve, and sister-in-law, Dee. He will be remembered for his hardworking nature, his love of the outdoors and the water, and the pride he took in his family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
No services will be held at this time.
Cotten Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and friends of William "Bill" Bruce Kovac.
