Andrew Joseph Foster

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Gruene HaII, 1281 Gruene Rd, New Braunfels, TX 78130 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A separate Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at the Storm Lake, Iowa Chautauqua Shelter House from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. All are welcome to attend who would like to honor and celebrate the life of Andy.

Andy was born November 30, 1964, in Omaha, Nebraska, the son of John R. Foster and Mary Devine Foster. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1982 and spent several years working in Storm Lake, IA, where he met his long-time friend and the mother of his daughter, Linda Francis, before moving to Iowa City, IA. On April 6, 1995, Andy became the proud father of Brennan Rickman-Francis Foster. He moved to Texas in 1999 to be close to his daughter and lived in various cities including Austin, Bastrop, and New Braunfels.

Andy’s passion was music. He was a talented musician and songwriter and enjoyed listening to live performances whenever he could. He loved to play his guitar and share his written songs with friends and family. His songs were often filled with humor, including our family favorite, which he wrote for a family member having a hard time finding a good man called “My Man-picker’s Broke.”

Andy was a humble intellectual, winning trivia challenges easily and often outwitting us all. His math skills were astounding. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and sharing stories. He was the life of the party and carried a light-hearted spirit throughout his days. He often reminded us all to not take life so seriously.

Those left to cherish Andy’s memory include his daughter Bree Foster, New York City, NY; siblings Thomas (Mary) Foster, Omaha, NE; Edward Foster, Des Moines, IA; Ann (Daniel) Braly, Lakehills, TX; John P. Foster, Storm Lake, IA; and twin brother Matthew Foster, Coralville, IA; nephew Aaron (Stacey) Boger, San Antonio, TX; niece Whitney (Mark) Guvernator, Houston, TX; extended family and many friends. Andy was preceded in death by his parents Mary Devine Foster and John R. Foster; brothers Richard and Robert Foster; and brother-in-law Daniel Braly.
