Barbara Strickland

Barbara Edna Lomardo-Strickland, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, went to be with her Lord peacefully at home, on the morning of December 5th. She was born on September 18, 1939 in LA California, to Maurice & Marion Lombardo. On December 16 1955, she married William (Bill) Strickland at the Second Baptist Church, NB Tx, after-which had a son Anthony Ray Strickland (Spouse Peggy Strickland), daughter Liz Strickland-Blankenbeckler (Spouse Mark Blankenbeckler) and daughter Lynie Strickland. As a military family they spent the next 20 years in the Air Force, traveling all over the country. After retirement, they settled back in New Braunfels, and as she would tell you how much she loved to see the world, but she was ready to make New Braunfels home. She had one true passion, and that was the love for her Husband, her children, and grandchildren. She truly Loved and lived life to the fullest, and everyone around her knew the depths of her love. Along with her 3 children, she is survived by her 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She went home to be with her lord 11 days shy of 60 years of marriage, and she will be greatly missed by her family she loved, whom she devoted her life to.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8th at Zoeller Funeral Home from 5-8. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday December 9th starting at 2:00pm at Zoeller Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
