Brenda was my daughter-in-law’s stepmother she was one of the sweetest people i have ever known. The world will be a little less bright without her.   Rest In Peace Brenda. 

Brenda and I attended high school together.  Brenda was a high-spirited person and why being a wrestling cheerleader was a strong attribute for her.  Brenda's the-then boyfriend, my husband today, was a wrestler as well. (Is that not a coincidence!)  Brenda wore her cheerleading outift proudly and a testimony why she loved cheering.  

During high school, Brenda and I shared business classes our junior year.  About halfway thru the school year, Brenda was coming to class looking as tho she had slept in her clothes.  Brenda always dressed nice but the wrinkles left me bewildered.  One day during class, I just had to open up the can of worms and ask Brenda, do you sleep in your clothes?  Her response was yes I do! It makes getting ready for school much easier and on some days, was sliding in when the bell was ringing for first period and would just smile!  That was just Brenda.....pretty, bubbly, and always a genuine smile on her face.

Brenda moved away and when FB exploded, it brought the world to lite and we had reconnected.  Brenda was extremely excited for our 40th year class reunion, this year.   She had told me she was planning to come, even though she moved her senior year,  JA was her home school.  Unfortunately, we have lost another classmate.  

We are extremely sorrowful for the passing of Brenda and convey our condolences to the family.   Hold onto your faith and be strong.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Pope; son, Gene Brown III and his wife Shannon; daughter, Sevena Brown; step-sons, Tommy Pope and Jason Pope and his wife Katie; step-daughters, Amanda Steenken and husband Chuck and Heather Moyer and husband Joel; father, Jim Schaffer; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; sisters, Robin Stephens, Belinda Sprague and Rhonda Longoria; brothers, Scott Morton and Kenneth Collins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Josephine Morton and Bill Morton.
