

Della Mae Talbott was born to Oscar Peter Enders and Betty Emily Roos Enders on August 21, 1922 in Fredericksburg, Texas. And was the eldest of five children. The family moved to New Braunfels in the 1930s where she learned English in school. She attended New Braunfels High School where she graduated as Valedictorian of her class. She attended Southwest Texas University (now Texas State) at San Marcos, TX for two years, and received her teaching certificate.
She met the love of her life, Hugh Leroy Talbot at a U.S.O. dance in 1946. They were married on April 25, 1948 in New Braunfels, TX. Hugh was a flight engineer in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years, so the family of 7, four girls and one boy lived in many parts of the U.S. over the years; Tampa, Fl., Savannah, GA., and Honolulu, HI. During that period Della was a stay at home Mom, but was active as a Girl Scouts leader.
The family moved back to New Braunfels in 1970. Della went back to college (Southwest Texas University) and earned her accounting degree at the age of 55, and worked as a C.P.A. for many years. She was active in the V.F.W. and American Legion Ladies Auxiliaries where she served several terms as president.
Della Talbott is survived by her husband of sixty six years, Hugh Talbott; daughter, Elizabeth Allen; daughter Kathryn Smith and her daughter, Tonisha and her husband, Blake Dudley and her two sons; grandsons Cameron Smith and his wife Jennie and their children, Triston, Ashston, and Katlin; and Ryan Smith and his wife, Lisa and their children Landry and Rylee; daughter, Janice Pelt and her daughter Veronica and Kyle Holmburg, and their son Jackson; grandson Aaron Pelt and his wife Brigitte; daughter Judith Kerlick and her husband Randy Kerlick, and their son Wesley Kerlick and his fiancé Ashley.
Della was preceded in death by her parents, Betty and Oscar Enders, brothers Oscar Lane, Wallace James, and Perry Carl Enders and Sister Ruby Lorene Enders, and Robert Hugh Talbott.
Funeral services for Della Mae Enders Talbott of New Braunfels will be held on Saturday, the 31st day of January, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home with Reverend Harold Sassman officiating. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park Cemetery near Clear Springs, TX. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 5 to 8 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
