

She graduated from high school in Texas City and went on to attend Southwest Texas State Teachers College for one year. After she and Henry were married in 1941, she worked as a clerical secretary for many years. She enjoyed raising her family, along with painting, music and entertaining. She and Henry also had a passion for ballroom dancing, playing Bridge and traveling, which they continued to do after retiring to New Braunfels, Texas.
Doris was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in both Texas City and New Braunfels. In her later years she especially enjoyed attending her Sunday School Class and volunteering as a clerical worker for Hope Hospice New Braunfels. She dearly loved and was so proud of her grandkids/great grandkids, and attended as many recitals, graduations and volleyball games as she could.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Laura Yeager, husband Henry Belville, sister, Bonnie Briggs, and by her son, James David Belville. She is survived by her children: Laura Belville Drury and husband Johnny of Colorado Springs, CO., and Libby Belville Ruppel and husband Jim of New Braunfels, TX. She also leaves behind six grandchildren: Susan Belville Wood, Pamela Belville Jernigan, Kristin Drury Young, Gregg Drury, Chad Carney and Kaylee Ruppel. She also leaves twelve great-grandchildren.
There will be a memorial service at Zoeller Funeral Home on Saturday, April 22, at 2:00 PM. Memorials may be sent to First United Methodist Church and Interim Hospice. The family of Doris wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the loving caring staff at Interim Hospice, Memory Care of New Braunfels and Kirkwood Manor.
