

Bud Pearson, 97, of Canyon Lake, Texas, passed away on August 17, 2025, at The Heights of Bulverde Nursing Home in Spring Branch, Texas. He was born on August 27, 1927, in New Prague, Minnesota, to Alvin Harold and Helen Bitter Pearson.
He grew up in Chicago, Illinois, graduated from Taft High School in 1945, and soon after joined the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1946 and entered Luther College in 1947, graduating in May of 1950. While at Luther he was a member of the Nordic Cathedral Choir and served as senior class president. In September of 1950 he entered Luther Theological Seminary, St. Paul, Minnesota. On June 30, 1951, at Edison Park Lutheran Church, he married his childhood sweetheart, and the love of his life, Beverly Otters. He graduated from Luther Seminary in 1954, and was ordained in 1954 at Edison Park Lutheran.
He is survived by his brother Sherwin (Peco); children James and wife Bonnie, Thomas and wife Kathy, Mary, Robert and wife Sara; grandchildren Beverly, Luke, John, Rachel, Sarah, Stephanie, Paul, Benjamin and Ezra; great grandchildren George, Arwen, Jack, Clive, Reid and Maggie.
Bud is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley, his parents, and his wife Beverly.
Bud served as pastor at St. Olaf (New Hampton, IA), was called as the founding pastor of King of Glory (Dallas), served at First English (Victoria) and Holy Cross (Houston), and was Pastor Emeritus at Our Saviors Lutheran (Tyler).
Bud loved sharing life with his wife Beverly. He loved being with his kids (especially camping with them), and watching them become such wonderful adult people. He treasured his grandkids and enjoyed playing with them when they were little, and talking with them as they grew older. The arrival of his great-grandchildren was a thrill and he cherished every moment he had with them. Bud and Beverly loved to gather the whole family at their home in Hideaway for fun and games, dancing and lively conversation. The memories of those precious times are filled with love and laughter.
Bud enjoyed traveling, playing the piano and the harmonica, singing in the choir, working with wood, playing golf, working in the yard, talking to people, and preaching the Word of God.
