I am not there: I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow…”
--Mary Elizabeth Frye
From December 30, 1970 to the early hours of July 11, 2016, Juan was here with us. He laughed. He cried. He loved. And then one night silence. Being around him was like being in an eternal, temperate spring. Juan actually left us in January of 2000, the victim of a violent crime. In his departure now we see life anew. He gets to see again. To walk again. To express complete thoughts again.
Juan, your sons and daughters, your mom and dad, your brothers, and every member of this family will miss you. Run, run to the light now. Because you can. Our tears can be your fuel. Damn that’s a lot of fuel!
