

Lieutenant Colonel Mac K. Gough passed away on December 5, 2017 at the age of 71 in New Braunfels, Texas. He was born on October 15, 1946 in Williamsfield, Illinois to parents Dr. Glenn T. Gough and Leona Gough. He earned a bachelor’s degree in history from Washburn University in 1968 and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant. He also attending Air Command and Staff College in 1984, and Air War College in 1994. He served his country in the Air Force for 32 years, stationed many places throughout the United States and a tour in Vietnam earning many awards and decorations. Mac was member in the Reserve Officers Association, the Air Force Association, the Logistics Officer Association, Military Officer’s Association of America, Military Order of the World Wars, American Legion Post 179, Disabled American Veterans, National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, National Defense Transportation Association, Council of Logistics Management, Society of Logistics Engineers, and board member and past president of the Lone Star Parkinson’s Society.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Curtis Gough; and brother-in-law Noel Jackson. He is survived by his wife of over 50 years Mary Lou Gough; sons Kirk M. Gough and wife Stephanie Gough, Geoff Gough and wife Christina Gough; brothers Ellis Gough and wife Sue Gough of Katy, Texas, and Tom Gough and wife Marty of El Dorado Springs, Missouri; and sister Lea Jackson of St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends. A Public Visitation will be held on Monday, December 11, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, December 12, at 10:00 a.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:15 on January 3, 2018.
