An only child, Marilyn was born in March 1932 in Omaha, NE to her parents, Howard and Ruth (maiden name withheld). She graduated from Benson High School in Omaha, NE in 1950, and attended trade school to become an insurance adjuster, starting with Allstate, and finally retiring from Horace Mann in 2002 at the age of 70. She was very proud of, and extremely satisfied with, having a career that allowed her to financially assist families in rebuilding their lives in the immediate wake of natural disasters, from hurricanes to earthquakes to severe flooding to tornados. Almost to the very end of her career, she could be found climbing up on damaged rooftops or digging into flooded basements to assess structural damage and then writing the checks that allowed the families to quickly recover.
Through three marriages - the first to an Airman (USAF), the second to what she often described as a mid-life crisis, and the last to her high school sweetheart - she managed to travel the world, from Omaha NE, to Japan (Yokota), to Los Angeles CA, back to Omaha NE, to Oklahoma City OK, to Salt Lake City UT, to Olathe KS, to Sunland CA, to Oceanside CA, and finally settling in New Braunfels TX to be closer with her son and daughter.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her 1st husband, Drexal Dean Noah (married in 1955); her 2nd husband, Paul Eugene Long (married in 1970); and her 3rd husband, Richard Lloyd Finley (married in 1986). She is survived by her son Michael Noah and his wife Junko, and her daughter Patti Noah, all of New Braunfels TX. She is also survived by three adorable grandchildren whom she loved dearly: Jamie Kaede (TX), Erin Breanne (FL) and Sean Michael (FL) Noah. Marilyn was greatly loved, and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Hope Hospice in New Braunfels TX for their unwavering care and support. They ask that any memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
