MARY LEE MOELLER went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at the age of 74. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on September 19, 1940 to Mary Lee and Al Moeller. The youngest of their children, Mary Lee was precocious, fun-loving and a little bit of a tomboy. Some of her favorite memories were of times hunting with her dad, her uncle and her brother. Upon graduation from Southwest Texas State University in 1962, Mary Lee pursued a career in banking; however it wasn’t long before she realized her true calling lay in education. As a founding member of the faculty for Westlake High School in Austin, Mary Lee touched the lives of countless young adults. Her passion for teaching and dedication to the support of her students was instrumental to their success. Known widely as “Ms. Moeller,” Mary Lee provided discipline, encouragement, a sympathetic ear and ultimately friendship to all her “kids.” She loved her family and was the fun-loving aunt who spent countless hours shopping for toys for Christmas and bunnies at Easter. Mary Lee was an animal lover and as much as she loved her family, her greatest love was for her puppy, “Major” Moeller. He was her companion in the last years of her life, providing her with laughter and unconditional love. Mary Lee was a de-voted daughter, loving sister, treasured aunt and loyal friend. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Al and Barbara Moeller, nieces, Susan (Pete) Montgomery and Cindy (Robert) Gonzalez, nephews, Tim (Leann) Moeller and Mark (Valerie) Moeller, and numerous great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins and friends. The family is eternally grateful to her loyal friend, Joyce Frei, and the staff at Edenhill Communities for their care and dedication to Mary Lee in the final years of her time here on earth. We will miss her smile.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the charity of your choice.
Rosary/Vigil Services will be held on Friday, April 17, 2015 at 1:00pm at Zoeller Funeral Home.
