Patrice Erica (Smith) Clayton, age 64, of Brownsville, Texas passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Patrice was born June 13, 1957 in Topeka, Kansas. While Patrice lived in many different locations during her life, New Braunfels was always special to her and she considered it home. She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas W.E. Smith and mother Patricia H Smith, and brother Renee Stephen Smith. She is survived by a sister Leizann Michele (Smith) Engelke, brother Jeremy Rust and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Patrice had a servant's heart, was an avid crocheter and had a lifelong commitment to education; both as a continuing student and educator when needed. She was also a longtime member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
Due to the recent increase of COVID in the area, a memorial service will be planned for a future date when conditions are better for people to gather.
