

Peggy Joyce Braune, 95, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on April 16, 2026. Born on February 20, 1931, she was the seventh of nine children born to John Wesley and Eva (Coleman) Adams.
Peggy shared 57 beautiful years of marriage with her husband, Arlon Braune, until his passing in 2008. A woman of deep and abiding faith, she was a lifelong, devoted member of the Church of Christ, finding her greatest joy in her relationship with Jesus Christ.
She spent many years working in the textile industry at Mission Valley Mills and West Point Pepperell. After retirement, Peggy cherished the opportunity to spend her time with the family and friends she loved so dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Eva Adams; her brothers Frank Adams, Ruben Adams, Jesse Adams, Hubert Adams, and Loyd Adams; and her sisters Roberta Bird and Bell Carlson.
Peggy is survived by her sons, Garland Ray Braune (Debbie) of Whitehouse and Timothy Braune (Erin) of Seguin; her granddaughters, Cerise Black (Cain) of Gonzales and Kira Bickham (Ryan) of Bryan; her great-grandchildren, Cade Black, Kaia Black, Ciara Gorner (Graham), Bella Black (Hunter), Titus Bickham, and Kallum Bickham; her great-great-granddaughters, May Boothe and Wynonna Hohertz-Black; and her brother, James Adams (Peggy). She is also lovingly remembered by numerous extended family members and dear friends.
A graveside service to celebrate Peggy’s life will be held on Friday, April 24, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Guadalupe Valley Cemetery, followed by a reception at the New Braunfels Church of Christ.
Peggy will be remembered for her unbreakable, strong spirit, her gentle and boundless kindness, and the profound love she poured out so freely on her family and friends. With a heart full of faith, she also shared the transforming love of Christ with everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of hope, comfort, and light that continues to touch us all.
