

Rose Lee spent her early childhood on the family farm in Walburg until the age of 12 when the family moved to Kingsville, Texas, where she was confirmed and became a member of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. The family later relocated to New Braunfels, and Rose Lee soon began working as a Fire Safety Inspector for the Randolph Air Force Base Fire Department during WWII. It was here that she met George Waltisperger, her husband of 68 years, while he was serving as a fireman on the base after his return from war. They married on February 8, 1947. She was a proud stay-at-home mother to her daughter Connie and her son Ronald. When the children reached the upper school grades, Rose Lee began a long and rewarding career of more than 20 years as a customer service representative for the Sears store in New Braunfels.
Rose Lee enjoyed cooking, family holidays, her dogs, and high school, college, and professional sports. Rose Lee was an active and faithful member of Cross Lutheran Church for 67 years participating in LWML, Altar Guild, and many other ministries of the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Alfred Bethke, Jr., father and mother-in-law Joe and Mary Waltisperger, brother-in-law Ralph Ikels and Clarence Poppe, brother and sister-in-law Gilbert and Emily Waltisperger, and son-in-law Johnnie Bartow.
Rose Lee is survived by her husband George, daughter Connie Bartow of New Braunfels, son Ron Waltisperger and wife Lynette of Round Rock, Texas; sisters Lucille Poppe of Milton, Florida, Betty Erben and husband George of New Braunfels and Kathy Einsel of New Braunfels; sister-in-law Bernice Ikels of Schertz, Texas; several nieces and nephews; and longtime friend Gladys Rust.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Oak Tree Assisted Living, Kirkwood Rehabilitation, and Warm Springs Hospital for their loving care during these past few difficult months.

The family will receive guests from 6:00-7:00 PM on Friday, March 27 at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa Street, New Braunfels, Texas.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 28 at 11:00 AM, Cross Lutheran Church, 2171 Common Street, New Braunfels, Texas, followed by internment at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
