Theodore Harold Sandberg Jr.

Theodore was born in Madrid, Iowa on October 19, 1929. His father was Theodore H. Sandberg and mother was Mary Elisabeth Stanish. His sister Elisabeth Sandberg as well as his parents preceded him in death.

Theodore was married to Frankie Marie (Daniel) Sandberg for 57 wonderful years.

Theodore received a Bachelor of Science in Education from Iowa State University where he also played College Football.

Theodore served in the United States Air Force for 21 plus years as a Pilot serving in Korea and Vietnam. Theodore received several accommodations from the Air Force for his service and valor.

Theodore is survived by his wife Frankie Marie Sandberg of New Braunfels and two children; Charlie Sandberg and wife Marie of Pasadena, Texas, Christina Sandberg Coleman and husband Shelby, Jr. of New Braunfels, Texas. He is also survived by three Grandchildren; Shelby A. Coleman, Elyse Sandberg, and Brendan Sandberg.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 14, 2011 from 11 am until 1 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home on Thursday, July 14, 2011. Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full Military Honors.

The family would also like to thank the nurses who took great care of Theodore H. Sandberg, Jr., it really means a lot to our family.
