Virginia Tice

Virginia F. Roach was born July 18, 1932 in Newburgh, New York to Edward and Virginia (Bracken) Roach. She grew up in New York and graduated from nursing school as a Registered Nurse in 1955.

On May 5th, 1955 she married Ralph Tice in Maybrook New York, they had 9 children. They lived in the Plainview and Rochester area for many years, and later divorced.

Virginia moved to the San Marcos and New Braunfels area where she has resided for the past 43 years. Virginia worked for several medical facilities in the area: Gary Job Corps where she was a nurse instructor, Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. She also worked in the emergency room at Central Texas Medical Center, Kirkwood Manor Nursing Home, and Colonial Manor Nursing Home, finally retiring in 2005 after a 50 year career in nursing.

Virginia is survived by 2 sons; Bill (Sharon) Tice, Plainview, MN and Andrew Tice, Seguin, TX; 3 daughters, Julie Tice, New Braunfels, TX, Patti (James) Tanksley, New Braunfels, TX, and Linda (Shawn) Gould, New Braunfels, TX. 1 brother, Toby (Gail) Klassen, St Charles, MN; one step-Brother, Jim (JoAnn ) Klassen, Oklahoma City, OK; 16 Grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was always quoted as saying “I love every one of my children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.”

Virginia was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Ted and Virginia Klassen formerly of Plainview, MN; two sons: Ralph Eugene, and Joseph Edward; two daughters: Nancy LeeAnn, and Virginia (Ginger) Noreen; and one brother, Edward (Snookie) Roach

Visitation is Monday, November 6, 2017 from 5pm-9pm, Rosary recited at 7 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Tuesday, November 7th, 2017 at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels. Burial will immediately follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
