Yvonne Martha Tolle, age 91, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at Guadalupe Regional Medical Center in Seguin, Texas after having lived a life rooted in devotion to her family, quiet strength, and enduring love. Yvonne was born on October 19, 1934, in Zuehl, Texas, to Charles D. and Edwina Fling. She was baptized on September 22, 1935 at Redeemer United Church of Christ in Zuehl, Texas and confirmed her faith on August 24, 1947 at St. Paul Evangelical in Cibolo, Texas. Yvonne was a devoted member of St. John Lutheran Church in Marion, Texas as well as a treasured member of the women’s ministry.
On November 28, 1954, Yvonne married Vernell (Sonny) Tolle in Cibolo, Texas after meeting at a Grange dance. Yvonne was a devoted mother to her two children, Debra Mattke (Michael) (born March 6, 1957) and Mark Tolle (Dora) (born November 10, 1960). Her greatest joy came from her family, and she took immense pride in watching it grow through the generations.
Yvonne started working at Randolph Airforce Base in 1962 as a cashier. She worked many years in civil service at Randolph eventually becoming the secretary to the general manager. She retired for the first time in 1987. Yvonne went back to work at Tolle Manufacturing in 1987 (Taprite) and worked there until her second retirement at age 85 in 2019.
She was a loving grandmother to Amy Anderson, Kelsey Tolle, Whitney Heimann (Josh), and Trevor Mattke (Danielle), and a cherished great-grandmother to Brock Anderson, Bryson Anderson, Reagan Parrish, Bethany Heimann, Brylee Heimann, Noah Mattke, Easton Mattke, Kyzer Pena, and Kalum Pena. Each of them held a very special place in her heart.
She is also survived by sister-in-law Agnes Fling, nieces Deanna Fling and Andrea Jones (Rodney); nephews John Robert Fling and Jason Fling (Amanda); and great niece and nephew Emma and Jake Fling.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, father and mother in law, Henry Tolle and Irene (Doerr) Tolle; siblings, Charles W. “Bill” Fling and John Charles Fling; brother and sister in law, Andrew and Ann Tolle; and grandson Christopher Mattke all of whom she held dear throughout her life.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bhupinder Sangha and Elisabeth Hudson, FNP for their loving and compassionate care of Yvonne over the last several years.
Yvonne was known for her gentle nature, steady presence, and unwavering care for others. She expressed her love not through grand words, but through everyday acts of kindness, patience, and selflessness. Yvonne’s legacy lives on through her family, who carry forward her values of love, humility, and devotion. She will be remembered for the life she lived so faithfully, the family she nurtured so lovingly, and the quiet strength that defined her character.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know her.
Serving as pallbearers will be: Brock Anderson, Bryson Anderson, Eric Anderson, Josh Heimann, Trevor Mattke, Jason Fling, and John Robert Fling.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Lopez, Rosario Valle, Rodney Jones, and Clayton Bauer.
Visitation will begin 12:00 noon on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at St. John Lutheran Church in Marion, TX with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Marion, Texas.
