Aida DeJesus

Aida was born April 3, 1961, in Ponce, Puerto Rico and is the daughter of Anastelia Rojas and Cesar Ortiz.

An affectionate and loving wife and mother, in addition to her high school sweetheart, Lucas (Papo) DeJesus of 36 years, she will also be dearly missed by her mother, Anastelia Rojas, and her stepfather, Ernesto Rojas; her four precious children: Lucas DeJesus, Jr., Edgar A. DeJesus, Idaliz Ortiz, and Liseann Muniz; her five sweet grandchildren: Luke-Nathan DeJesus, Johnny DeJesus, Lucas Jeremiah DeJesus, Nasstajah DeJesus, and Demily C. DeJesus; her sisters and brothers: Alcides Ortiz, Liz Vanessa Ortiz, Maria Ortiz, Serro Ortiz, Cesar Ortiz, Joanna Ortiz, Luis Ortiz, Irving Ortiz and Kilsian Ortiz; her aunts and uncles: Sonia Escobar, Antonia and Miguel Colon, Migdalia Engle, and Monserrate Ruiz; in addition to her many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Aida was also predeceased by: her aunt Maria Vega, her uncle Alcides Escobar, and her cousin Gary Alvarado.

Aida's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the UCONN staff for their wonderful care and for their many acts of kindness and support during her illness.

Visitation hours will be held Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 5-8pm at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, concluded with a prayer service at 7:30pm, officiated by Pastor Brixeida Marquez.

Funeral services will begin Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 9:00am, at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, followed by the Prayer Service at 11am officiated by Pastor Brixeida Marquez. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, 120 Smalley Street, New Britain.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her memory may also be made to Lucas DeJesus for the purchase of the grave stone.
