Cecile (Guerrette) Fiederlein, 88, beloved wife of the late Deacon Frank H. Fiederlein died peacefully at the Jerome Home in New Britain on Friday, December 25, 2020. She was born in Quebec, Canada on October 21, 1932. She was the daughter of the late George & Edwidge Guerrette. She is survived by two daughters, Laurre-Ann Dauphin and her husband, John, and Nancy Arena and her much loved grandchildren: Sean and his wife Holly Dauphin, Lisa and her husband Brody Pickman, Ryan Dauphin, Carolyn and James Arena, and three great grandchildren: Lucca, Mason, and Wrenley Pickman.
She is survived by one sister, Yvonne (Guerrette) Sirois of Madawaska, Maine. She graduated from Van Buren High School in Maine in 1950. She moved to Hartford, CT soon after graduation and was married on May 5, 1952. She graduate from Central CT State College, now CCSU, in 1960 with degrees in Social Studies, French, and History for grades 7th through 12th. She was most grateful for the education that CCSC provided. Later on, she continued her education with four Masters Degrees and a CAG. She taught at Newington High School for 32 years. It was a great journey full of wonderful experiences teaching Sociology, French, and the UCONN Cooperative Program to students. Every day was a new adventure for her and Newington High School was an exceptional career.
She wanted to thank all of the caring colleges who shared their knowledge and capabilities with her and who became forever friends with her and Frank for life. She loved her career in teaching.
She and Frank took many students to France each year for many years to study in France for 6 weeks at a time. They also traveled to Germany to visit relatives and visited many other countries in Europe. They especially enjoyed camping cross-country in the summers in the United States with their daughters.
Cecile’s family is most grateful and wishes to thank the entire staff at the Jerome Home for all their care and compassion especially during the pandemic during her stay at the home.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 9AM at New Britain Memorial – Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, CT. Mass of Christian celebration is scheduled 11AM at Sacred Heart Church, 48 Cottage Street, East Berlin, CT 06023. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in New Britain.
