Daniel Bryan Bates

He was born in New Britain to the late Edward and Frances (Jezewski) Bates. He resided in New Britain until 1981 when he moved to Cromwell. Daniel attended local schools and graduated from UCONN in 1973. He was employed by Stanley Works for over 25 years then Baron & Young for over 10 years retiring in 2012.

Daniel was a lighthearted man who loved animals. He could be found tending to his countless flowers and walking Daisey Dog and playing Setback at the Cromwell Senior Center. He was an avid Red Sox and UCONN fan. He was a member of the Valley Golf League and the Spartan Club in Kensington. He was funny, outgoing, intelligent and deeply cared for others. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his partner Barbara, he is survived by her 3 children of whom he adored, Fran Kincman and Laurie of Manchester and his daughter Jessica of East Hartford, Kevin Kincman and Kristy Carson of East Hartford and their son Talan, Cheryl Comini and Paul of Palm Harbor, FL and their children Paul, Gianna and Isabella; his brother, David Bates of New Britain; his nephew, Jason Bates of Rocky Hill; his niece, Sherilyn Degenhardt of North Carolina and many close friends including Dave and Rose Dixon.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, July 8th, from 5 to 8PM, at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
