

She was born on October 23, 1921, in Brooklyn, NY, to the late Eric and Emelia Johnson Bjorkstrom. She was the beloved wife of the late Edwin "Bud" Girling. She was a graduate of New Utrecht High School in New York. She worked at East Side Market in Wallingford and JCPenny for many years, which she retired from.
She is survived by her granddaughter Amanda (Gosselin) Jacques and her huspand, Tory, of Cheshire, her great grand-dogs Buddy, Hope and Doyle, son in law Mark Gosselin, son Edwin Girling and wife Flo, daughter Lynn Becroft and many other grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving daughter Joyce Gosselin.
She loved playing cards, vacations in Cape Code, the beach, traveling and seafood. She was a loving and caring soul and had a great sense of humor. She was known as Grandma Girling to many.
Please meet the family in Church on Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 at 10:00am at the United Methodist Church, Wallingford, followed by her burial in White Plains Rural Cemetery, White Plains, NY. Visitation hours will be held Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014 from 5-7:30pm at the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain.
