Our dear mother, Eleanor A. Kolosky, 90, of New Britain, sadly passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 21, 2025, at Ingraham Manor in Bristol. Eleanor was born on May 21, 1934 to the late Anthony and Dorothy(Daversa) Muraca in Dunmore, PA. She was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Bruno “Bernie” Muraca, Theresa “Tessie” Holda and Rose “Rosie” McMurray. As well as her loving husband Vito A Kolosky Sr. She is survived by her devoted children, Robert Kilduff Jr.(Ornella) of New Britain and Dorene Kenney (James) of Bristol; her five adored grandchildren, Robert Kilduff (Elizabeth) of Bristol, Matthew Kilduff, Michael Kilduff (Kailey) of New Britain, C. Jay Chaika (Liana)of Bristol, and Jessica Kenney( fiancé Colby )of Bristol; and four precious great-grandchildren, Julian, Jackson, Eloise, and Alina. She also leaves behind nieces and nephews as well as her best friend of over 75 years, Virginia Calendria, who was more like a sister than a friend.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her most, offering unwavering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A cherished friend to many, Eleanor leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion to those she held dear.
Eleanor worked at Macristy’s Industries for many years before making the cherished decision to stay home and care for her grandchildren—a role that brought her immense joy.
In her free time, Eleanor, known affectionately as Ellie, enjoyed bowling, a pastime she initially shared with her sister Tessie and that soon became a family tradition among all the sisters. She also loved spending time with family and friends, playing cards, shopping, taking trips to the casino, and scratching lottery tickets. Summers were filled with cherished memories vacationing and spending time with family and friends.
Services: A calling hour will be held on Friday March 7, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at New Britain Funeral Home, Donald Sangerino. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 AM at Saint Ann’s Church in New Britain, CT.
