Frances M. (Tutko) Jakubowski, 91, accepted God’s invitation to come home on February 9, 2020, joining her husband, Stanley, in heaven. Frances was the daughter of the late Mary and John Tutko. She lived in New Britain all her life and was a member of St. Jerome Church. Besides being a homemaker, Frances loved meeting new people and worked for New Britain Dry Cleaners in Kensington and Newington for many years. She was the neighborhood Avon representative for twenty-five years.
Frances was an avid reader and shared her love of books with children. She was a reading volunteer in the first grade at Thomas Jefferson School for 15 years. She also spent time with her four grandsons as they grew. Frances enjoyed road trips to Vermont to see the foliage each October and spent summers at York Beach, Maine. She was a big fan of the UCONN women’s basketball. Frances loved country music, buying her first guitar at age 15. She passed her love of music on to her grandsons who continue to play her guitar.
Frances is survived by three daughters, Elaine Schmidt of Bristol, Nancy Wysocki of Bristol, and Linda and Dennis Frenette, her favorite son-in-law, of Plainville, and four grandsons Aaron Schmidt, Ryan Schmidt and Angie Dee, Sean Frenette, and Kyle and Kate Frenette. She is also survived by great grandchildren Jameson, Rylynn and Bethany Schmidt, Baby Boy Frenette and sister-in-law Marie Jakubowski, a niece Mary Jane Lam and nephews Dennis and Ronald Jakubowski. She will be missed by many friends and ex-son-in-law, Gary Schmidt, who always made her smile.
We would like to thank the excellent staff at LiveWell in Plantsville for their compassionate care, especially her wonderful care companions Brenda and Taylor.
Friends and family may call on Wednesday, February 12th from 9:30-10:30AM at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain.
