Besides his mother, he is survived by his devoted wife, Ellen (Perry) Gentile, his beloved children: daughter Tara Bialek and her husband, TJ Bialek, and son David Gentile and his fiancée Kinga Kostaniak.
He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren: Layna, Hunter and Cade; his sister Donna Gentile and brother Stephen Gentile and his wife, Patricia Gentile; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, as he touched the lives of everyone he met. There is no person that met The Captain, that didn't instantly call him a friend.
To briefly describe Fran is nearly impossible as there are no words to fully describe a man that was loved by everyone who knew him. Fran was a model husband and father which was shown through his work ethic, selflessness towards others and unwavering love for his children. He was a true gentleman who inspired everyone he encountered as he was a kind hearted soul with a selfless need to help others.
Fran proudly served with the US Navy and retired from CL&P after 38 years of service. After retirement, Fran took up boating and spending time with his family and friends. He stayed young by swimming daily at the YMCA.
