

Born January 16th, 1925 in Poland, son of the late Jozef and Helena (Gawel) Kowynia. He lived in New Britain since 1972 and proudly became a United States citizen, was longtime parishioner of Sacred Heart Church and a retiree of Jacob’s Mfg., Bloomfield.
Frank, a very religious and devoted husband of 67 years, leaves behind his loving wife, Genowefa (Lysik) Kowynia, daughters; Maria Swiatek and her husband Walter of New Britain, Krystyna Oron and her husband Waldemar of New Britain, son Stanislaw Kowynia and wife Teresa of Southington. His grandchildren; Christopher Swiatek, Renata Wawszkiewicz and husband Peter, Alicia Swiatek DeMaria and husband Michael, Victor Kowynia and wife Amy, Adam Kowynia, Oliver Oron, Dominique Allard and her husband Matthew, his great grandchildren; Adrian, Noah, Olivia and Kamila and extended family.
Frank was a very hardworking, kind, patient and intelligent man. He was also very talented, self-educated and highly awarded architect, farmer, musician and artist back in Poland. He adored family gatherings, singing, playing violin and harmonica. He loved the outdoors and fishing with his grandchildren. Our hearts and minds will be filled with wonderful memories. Dziadzia, we will miss you so much. Your love and wisdom will be cherished and will live forever.
Visitation hours will be held Sunday, January 10th, from 4-7pm at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain.
Funeral services will begin Monday, January 11, 2016 at 10am for a brief gathering at the funeral home, followed by his Funeral Liturgy at 11am in Sacred Heart Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. For directions or online messages, please visit www.newbritainsagarino.com.
