Jacqueline Mas

Jacqueline Mas, age 97, of New Britain, Connecticut passed away on Monday, August 25, 2025. Fondly known as “Jackie” by her neighbors in Berlin and fondly known by her lifelong Spanish friends as “Joaquineta”.

Raised in Orba, Spain, she married her childhood sweetheart, Jose (“Pito”). Together, they came to the U.S.A. in the mid-1950s, eventually settling in Berlin, CT, where they raised their children, Marilyn and Joe.

She was loved and respected by her neighbors – known for her hospitality and Paellas. She loved her companion, Perla, her chihuahua (“baby”).

Jackie was very creative in many ways, but especially in the field of sewing. Her talent in fashion design could rival the best of world fashion designers.

Joaquineta loved spending time with her lifelong Spanish friends also. She is fondly remembered for her contagious laughter.

Most of all, she had an intense love for her family here and in Spain.

We will never forget the self-sacrifice that you did on our behalf. We will never forget the love that you showed us.

A visitation for Jacqueline will be held Friday, September 5, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain, CT 06053. Following the visitation will be a graveside service from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at Saint Mary Cemetery, 1141 Stanley St, New Britain, CT 06051.
