

Lucille Scapellati Rose, died on June 22, 2017. Born in New Britain as the seventh of eight children of Phillip and Pauline Sidoti Scapellati. She is predeceased by her parents and siblings Salvatore, Nicholas, Anthony, Philip and Frances Carpenter. Lucille leaves behind her devoted husband Anthony, daughter Lucinda Rose General, son David Rose, four grandchildren Leslie Coleman, Brian Stone, Joshua and Benjamin Rose and great grandchildren Sofia and Quentin Stone.
Lucille lived her life devoted to her family, exemplified by her supportive care of her brother Philip, the love she showered on her children and grandchildren plus her faith in and commitment to her husband Tony. Lucille proudly graduated in 1954 from Teacher’s College (now Central Conn. State University), then taught elementary school, married, raised her children and went on to follow a career path. She was the smiling voice of CATIC (Conn. Attorney’s Title Insurance Co.) for approximately six years and then moved on to a position she was proud of and very intrigued with. Lucille served as the secretary to Chief Willis at the New Britain Police Department and retired while serving Chief Sencio. She treasured these years. Additionally, Lucille was an active committee member and volunteer with SHHH (Self Help for the Hard of Hearing)
Calling hours will be on Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 4-7pm at New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home. 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT 06053. There will be a Funeral Liturgy on Friday, June 30, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Paul Church 485 Alling Street, Kensington, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, 151 Farmington Ave. (Rt. 10) Plainville. Everyone is asked to meet at the church. Memorial donations in honor of Lucille, in lieu of flowers, may be sent to Catholic Charities 839-401 Asylum Ave., Hartford, CT 06105.
