

Mary Teresa Spatkowski, 97, of New Britain, passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord, June 8, 2015 at her home. She was born in New Britain, daughter of the late Thaddeus and Vincenta (Balkun) Logwin. She worked at Garro Manufacturing, pre-retiring to raise her three children. Upon the death of her husband, Mary returned working full time at the Hartford Courant, retiring in 1983. Mary was an active member of Holy Cross Church including The Mothers Club. She enjoyed gardening, especially her flowers, she also enjoyed music and loved to dance. Mary was an avid traveler and she enjoyed seeing the world. She also participated in a number of bowling leagues throughout her life. She was predeceased by her husband William Spatkowski in 1960. She is survived by her daughter Carol Ann Rinaldini of Bristol, her two sons, Dr. Ted Spatkowski of Canton, OH, and James Spatkowski and his wife Susan of Bristol, one sister Anna M. Rembisz, of Southington, and her pride and joy, two grandsons Christopher Spatkowski and Kevin Spatkowski and his fiancée Jena Greene all of Bristol, and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her faithful companion Zip, her cat who never left her side. In addition to her husband she was predeceased by her sister Genevieve Stepeck and her husband John, her son in law James Rinaldini and her brother in law Albert Rembisz. Funeral services will be Saturday June 13th, 9AM from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral home, followed by the Liturgy of Christian Burial, 10AM in Holy Cross Church, burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
