Robert S. Wytas passed away on June 8, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with ALS. Robert was born in New Britain and moved to Berlin where he resided with his family. Robert is predeceased by his parents Laura and John E. Wytas, his brother John E. “Butch” Wytas Jr., and his his cousin Joseph Senk. He is survived by his wife; Janice (DeSimone), daughters; Kelly, Kimberly and his son-in law Josh (Clatterbuck), cousin Cheryl Janowski, nephew/god son Nicholas Casasanta, and furry sidekick Emma dog.
At 18, Robert enlisted in the US Army traveling to Germany where he served his country. When he returned to the states, Robert proudly joined the New Britain Police Department. Robert served the city of New Britain for 41 years. He most enjoyed his time interacting with the Broad Street community as Officer Bob. To say Bob was an avid fisherman would be an understatement. He loved spending time on Lake Quassi, building fishing rods, tying fishing flies and playing billiards.
