Sebastian Amato

Sebastian “Buddy” Amato, 82, widower of his loving and devoted wife, Isabella (Reale) Amato, since 2002, of New Britain, passed away on Wednesday, April 27, 2011 at the Newington Health Care Center. Buddy as a Hartford Public High School graduate, was inducted into the Hartford Public High School Hall of Fame in 2005. He taught Physical Education and was in Guidance in area schools, for 38 years, retiring from Earl Witt Middle School in 1989. Bud was an avid sports fan, especially of his Boston Red Soxs, Celtics, UCONN and loved golfing.

He is survived and will be dearly missed by his children: Michael Amato of Calabasas, CA, Maryann Kidner and husband Russell of Pheonix, AZ, Angie Amato of Plainville and Andrea Marino and husband Tom of Berlin, his five precious grandchildren; Dylan, Frankie, Alexandra, Dayna and Alyssa and several cousins.

Funeral Services will begin Monday, May 2, 2011 at 10:00am from the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain followed by the funeral liturgy at 11am in St. Joseph Church, New Britain. Burial will follow in Wilcox Cemetery, East Berlin.
