

OSTROWSKI, Stefan 80, It is with great sadness that the family of Stefan Ostrowski announces that he died peacefully on Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Predeceased by his loving parents, brothers and sisters. He was born in Poland and has lived in New Britain for over 43 years. He was the beloved husband of 53 years of Helen (Jurczyszak) Ostrowski.
Stefan was a member of St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, he was also a member of the church choir, actively volunteered at the church baking bread and making perogies, but his greatest joy was being with his family and friends. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed traveling and had a great sense of humor; he will be remembered for his kindness, warm smile and gentle heart.
Stefan retired from Stanley Works with pride after 30 years of service.
Besides his wife Helen he is survived by his loving children, two sons and two daughters, son Andrew Ostrowski and his wife Michelle of Foster City, California; son Peter Ostrowski of McAllen, Texas, daughter Mary Kebalo and her husband Andy of Grimsby, Ontario, and daughter Stephanie Ostrowski and her fiancé Dave of Glastonbury.He is survived by six beloved grandchildren, who were his pride and joy-Christine and Andrew Kebalo, Stephan and Nicole Ostrowski; Arianna and Joseph Ostrowski; Ryan and Jordyn Bisi.
He leaves his cousin Anna Jurczyszak and her children - Bob, Walter, Donna and Mary. Brother in law, Roman Jurczyszak, and many dear friends at St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian church, and reverence to Rev. Stefan Bereza.
With much gratitude, the family extends a sincere thank you to his kind dear friends at Andrew House Healthcare for the wonderful care and support that you gave our dear father in the final years of his life.
Funeral services will be on Friday April 20, 2012 at 8:30 AM at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, followed by the funeral liturgy at 10:00 AM at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, New Britain.
Calling hours will be on Thursday, April 19, 2012 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home, (Directions, Exit 37 off I-84, take a right at the exit, 1 ½ miles on your right). Panachyda Service will be at 7:00 PM at the Funeral Home. In lieu of Flowers memorial donations may be made to St. Josaphat’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.
