Stefania was born on April 12, 1936, to Eliasz and Paraskevia Fal. The second youngest of six children, she grew up in Mokre, a small village on the Ukrainian-Polish border. Her dream to move to America came true in 1963, where she and her husband, Teodor, settled in New Britain and proudly raised two daughters, Jenny and Anna. She gained her U.S. citizenship, established a career at Stanley Tools, and joyfully reunited with her brothers Stefan and Antoni Fal and sister Anna Blus, all of whom resided in New Britain. Remaining in Poland was sister Marysia; her younger sister Patronella who predeceased her siblings at age 12.
Over the years, Stefania found her second home at St Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and volunteered for every occasion. Widowed in 2000, she traveled extensively in retirement with her children and grandchildren, visiting Ukraine, Poland, Portugal, France, Spain, Italy, and Switzerland. She loved entertaining family and friends, hosting every holiday at her home and making everyone feel welcome. Stefania is survived by her daughters and son in law Robert Kerr who went above and beyond over the years assisting her, granddaughters Lesia Kerr (Christopher DeRoehn), Danielle Canning (Bill), and Briana Evans (Tucker), and her beloved great-grandson, Landon Canning. In addition, Stefania is survived by her nieces and nephew: Krystyna Occhi (Charlie), Irene Yanaros, Lesia Winiarskyj Day (Tom) (Danny), Zofia Kupicz (Jurek), Krystof, Monika and Tomasz Kupicz, Jadwiga Fal and many great nieces and nephews and more loving family in Canada, Poland and Ohio. She was predeceased by her nephew Stefan Fal. She cherished each one of you and the list goes on and on including all her cherished friends. A special thanks to Bohdan (Bohdanna) and Mark (Debbie) for all the years of support and to Gosia Maksymiuk who assisted her during these last few months in her time of need.
She died peacefully on April 10, 2026, after being surrounded by her family and friends and celebrated her 90th birthday in the company of her loved ones in heaven.
May She Rest in Peace!
