

Tomasz Penkiewicz, 41, son of late Sylwester Penkiewicz and Regina Wislocki, passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends, on Saturday November 7, 2020 after a long and courageous battle with leukemia. He is survived by his wife, Anna and their daughter Natalia, as well as his beloved uncle and godfather Zdzisław Penkiewicz and his family, of Spain. Tomasz was born in Ełk, Poland on January 23, 1979. He attended two years of high school at Liceum Ogólnokształcące zaoczne in Ełk, and studied for three years and graduated from technical school to be an auto mechanic also located in Ełk, Poland. He worked as a mechanic and later as a carpenter before he came to USA in 2004, where he met his future wife Anna. They were married in July of 2005. Their daughter, Natalia was born few months later. Tomasz loved cars. He worked as an auto mechanic for his brother, Darek before starting his long time work for Jan at Jan’s Motors LLC. In his spare time he loved to look at different car auctions and bought cars that needed to be fixed at good prices. He also loved to spend time with friends and family, especially with his best buddy Grzegorz Supinski and his wife Jola. Tomasz was also very fond of his two german shephard dogs Mia and Max. He also liked to ride on his tractor and cut grass and do different yard work around the house. Tomasz also enjoyed listening to Disco Polo and watching movies, especially sci fi or horrors, but liked comedies and action movies with jean clude van damme and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Tomasz is also survived by his brother Darek and his wife Marta and their two kids Tymek and Marcel of East Haddam, CT, his other brother Czarek and his girlfriend Beata of New Britain, CT. He is also survived by many cousins in Poland and in US, especially by Marzena Kedzierawski and husband Grzegorz, their daughter, Nicole of Wolcott, and Sandra Tama of New Britain, Ct and Ewa Gryczan and her boyfriend Giovanny of Glastonbury, Ct. He is also survived by Halina and her daughters Ariadna and Izabella and Aunts Danuta Gryczan and husband Wacław of New Britain, CT and Aunt Halina and husband of Poland. He is also survived by family in New Jersey, Dorota Zalewski and husband and kids. Tomasz’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the New Britain Memorial- Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home staff for their wonderful care and to all family and friends for their many acts of kindness and support during his long illness.
Wake and visitation hours will be held at New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave, New Britain on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 4:00 to 7:00pm. Funeral services will begin the following day, Friday, November 13, 2020 at 9:00am at the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Liturgy at Holy Cross Church, 31 Biruta St, New Britain at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery, 662 Burritt St, New Britain at 11:00 am.
