

Victor Penta, 100, of New Britain passed away at his home after a brief illness on February 20, 2025 with his loving family by his side. Born in New Britain, Ct on March 12, 1924 he was the son of the late Ralph and Elsie (Trotta) Penta and was a lifelong resident of New Britain. Victor was a talented tradesman and graduated from EC Goodwin Technical School specializing as a machinist. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII assigned to Company D. 708th military Police Battalion. In addition to holding a supervisory position at Pratt & Whitney, Colt Industries in West Hartford,CT, he was an entrepreneur owning several small businesses in New Britain over the years including Dixie Donut Shop and Allen Paint & Wallpaper. Victor was a founding member of the Senior Men's Club at Stanley Golf Course, playing daily up until the age of 95. He was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church and was an avid fan of the NY Yankees and the UCONN Men's and Women's Basketball teams. Victor enjoyed traveling both domestically and internationally and spending winters at his Palm Springs, Florida home with his late wife of 59 years, Kathleen (Cooney) Penta.
He is survived by his daughters; Victoria (William) Megofna of New Britain and Jacquelyn (Paul) Kilman of Burlington, 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Janice Penta Walker, brother; Vincent Ciaffaglione and sisters; Rose Petrossi, Lucy Penta, Ruby Yanello and Violet Penta.
Relatives and friends my call at the New Britain Memorial-Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain on Wednesday, February 26 from 9-10am. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 1755 Stanley St., New Britain. Burial next to his beloved wife Kathleen will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.
