Born in New Britain on September 19, 1959, Bill was the son of the late William E. Sr. “Red" and Marie Jones. He grew up in Southington on his family’s farm, the J-7 Stables, where he made countless cherished memories. Bill shared a lifelong closeness with his siblings, always ready to stand by them in times of need. As a boy, he enjoyed playing sports and skiing at Mt. Southington.
Bill’s strong work ethic was evident through every stage of his life, whether flipping houses with his brother Alan, pursuing his career in I.T., or tackling home projects. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family. He treasured day trips across New England, vacations to Disney World, cheering on the Red Sox at Fenway Park, playing catch with his son, taking his daughters on “girls’ day” drives to the shore. Bill also loved spending time with his in-laws, the late, Henry and Betty Archacki, sharing Sunday dinners at his parents’ home, and making countless other fond memories.
Time with Bill was always filled with laughter. Intelligent and resourceful, he was the family’s go-to problem-solver, a true jack of all trades who could fix anything. His generosity knew no bounds, and he never hesitated to help others. He will be loved and missed forever by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife Nancy I. Jones, his four children: Victoria Barbato and husband Joe of Meriden, Devon Adduci and husband Ed of Cheshire, Alex Jones and wife Shannon of Middletown, and Samantha Jones of New Britain; six cherished grandchildren: Emilia and Olivia Barbato, Hannah and Eddie Adduci, and Wesley and Everly Jones; his brothers: Alan Jones and partner Beth Kulas of New Britain, and Patrick Jones and wife Carrie of Florida; and his sisters: Deborah Jones and Diana Casey of Georgia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
The family would like to thank the Critical Care Staff at The Hospital of Central Connecticut for their compassionate care for Bill, especially Sarah, Ellie and Frank.
